John 16:33- Jesus said, in this world, we will have trouble, but be of good cheer, I have overcome.
Friends for as long as we are clothed in this flesh and live in this world, trouble and perilous times will come.
As a matter of fact in Luke 17:1- Jesus said ,”it is impossible not to have troublesome time”.
In Psalm 34:19-20- David said,”many are the afflictions of a righteous man”.Take note of that word “many” I wish it was a few but that is not the case. No-one is exempted from trouble. Jesus the son of God went through it and we will go through it as well. However here is what we need to know. Whenever we are faced with problems understand that, God is bigger than your problems.
Therefore be confident of this, that he will see you through and pull you out of all your troubles. He will bring you to a large and spacious land , where your life will thrive and be the best he created you to be. Don’t lose sight of this truth. Trouble comes from different sources. As a matter of fact James says they are various trials. Trouble comes from the devil, flesh, ourselves and people. God allows this to happen in our lives so that he can work in us both to will and act according to his good purpose. However in all this , you and me are more than conquerors why? God is bigger than our trouble.
“The Greater the obstacle the more Glory in overcoming it.” In a pin drop silence there I sit, reminiscing about childhood memories, how great were the days. Oh what a beautiful way to celebrate life…(cracks a smile) Looking back lead me to back tracing the circumstances and challenges that prepared me to be where I am today and the person I have become. There is nothing wrong in self-reflection; it’s a good way to find ways to a better you, a humbling moment it is.
Life is indeed a roller-coaster, there were times where I had broken moments, things got rough and though and left me wondering and asking many questions, what is my next move? Where do I run to? Will I make it? Who do I run to? Will I see change? Through these dark days I called onto God, I would look up and say “Semphete wena yoo rategang, Mmoloki waka, (Please don’t pass me by, my saviour) I need you, I have nowhere to go, you are my helper.” Well, eventually there was light at the end of the tunnel, but my first reaction would be “OH WHAT A COINNCIDENCE!” Now question is, was it a coincidence or God’s hand in my life? Many are times when we go through difficult times and our story surprisingly changes we think it was just a coincidence.
Getting a great connection with God made me realised there is no coincidence but it is the Lord’s work. A change in my situations was all God’s plan for me. The Lord declared, for I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. Indeed God listened to my prayers and changed my story.
God is our only source of hope, Believe in Him, Trust in Him, Meditate on His Word. When God sees you suffer, he speaks, listen to him for directions. Blessings come from God, thank Him all the time for we know that those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called for his purpose. Look at God; it is All GOD, not a coincidence.
The year was 1994, I was in form 2 and ready to sit for my final JCE (Junior certificate examination). I was called into the office by my head master , who told me that I will never pass my exams, no matter what I do. I looked at him straight in the eyes and challenged him saying, “I will pass my exams”. Indeed at the end of the term, when the results came out , I passed my exams and progressed .
The scripture says, “Death and life is in the power of the tongue”. Words are so powerful , that when spoken and not refused , ones life can be distracted. The scripture in Isaiah 54:17 says that we should refute every word that speaks against our lives.
I encourage you today, to learn the art of refusing any negative word towards you. Fight these negative words with the word of God. 1 John 5:4 ” You are born of God and therefore you are an overcomer”. Don’t let anyone kill your destiny, future, family, ministry and so forth, with words that are negative.
Never met a father like you. It was in 2000 when I lost my real dad, a great man, who loved his family, and he would do anything to support his children. He was the pillar and the apotheosis of our lives.
On the 29th of September 2000, he breathed his last, it was a terrible day never to be forgotten. I was in Uganda when this happened and when the news of his passing reached me, it took me 5 days to get home in Malawi, by the time I arrived, he had already been buried and I missed the ceremony.
After his death, life was never the same, it was tough but God used this difficult situation to reveal his faithfulness to us. We learned to rely on him as our father (Psalm 68:5, Psalm 55:22)
He took care of us, protected, defended and provided for us. Today I want to introduce you to this father. Sin alienates us from him but his desire is for us to know him as our dad. He sent Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross so that through his death we can be reconciled back to him.
I encourage you to study the book of John and get to know more of this loving God.
I remember in 2005/2006 after I got saved , the zeal I had to preach the gospel. I was on fire for Christ that I wanted to share the greatest miracle that happened to me.
Growing in the faith, I have seen the hand of God upon my life, and I have also seen how at times I tried to use my talent in music claiming to preach Christ, but in truth, I was just promoting myself (God forgive me). It is possible sometimes to love the gift than the giver of gifts.
John 15 reminds us that we can never be productive on our own. Christ is not to be preached out of duty but out of the relationship we have with him and the mysteries we find in him.
John 15:4. Remain in me as I remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me (Christ).
Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:13 says, “Their work will be shown for what it is, because the day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work”.
There’s no any foundation we can build on other than Christ himself, that’s why we are called to remain in him. But what does this mean? Joshua 1:8 explains it better.
So fellow soldiers of Christ, you can catch us at the brook, as we drink from the river of life (John 7:37) , study and meditate on the word of God, so we can know him more and represent him the way he ought to be represented.
“Coming together is the beginning; keeping together is the progress; working together is success.” – Henry Ford.
It is always great to be in the presence of the Lord. Let’s all come together in praise and worship for where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them, says the Lord as we will be graced by the presence of Living Waters Church founder (Apostle Dr S.S. Ndovie). You are the chosen people, a royal priesthood, and a holy nation. God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness in to the wonderful light.
Tell your friend and you friends’ friends to come fellowship with us. Let us not give up on meeting together, as some of us are in the habit of doing but let us encourage one another and all the more as you see the day approaching.

Hebrews 11 King James Version (KJV)
11 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
